Super Bowl XLIII: Pre-Game

Rooting interest:  I’m the type that roots against the team that just beat my team (the maybe-next-year Philadelphia Eagles), so I’m rooting against the Arizona Cardinals, impressive run notwithstanding. So I’ll be waving a virtual Terrible Towel for Pittsburgh Steelers uber-fans Dan Sell (my best friend Dave’s dad) and Matt Berginc (my cousin Jewel’s husband) tonight.

Five-cent, pre-game prediction: Arizona has the weapons on offense to beat Pittsburgh, which plays a blitz-heavy defense, similar to what the Cardinals just exploited in the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles. But I think Pittsburgh will take a lesson from Eagles v. Cardinals and adjust their defensive schemes accordingly for victory. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger will want to atone for his weak (but winning) performance in Super Bowl XL, and the Steelers will generate enough offense to win.
