Fooderating: A Halloween Miracle!

Back in late April when dyn-o-wife Alice was still on the Appalachian Trail, I visited her in Damascus, Virginia. It was there at the Food City where I first grabbed one: a box of Boo Berry cereal. Ever since then, I’ve looked everywhere between Virginia and New Jersey for more, and alas, I never found any.

So it was with shopping cart-screeching-to-a-halt joy at Wegmans last weekend when I saw it again: BOO BERRY! Even better, there was FRANKEN BERRY! And COUNT CHOCULA! I instantly grabbed one box of each and put it in the cart and continued on happily.

(Back in the day, the grocery stores in South Jersey never seemed to ever carry Boo Berry, just Franken Berry and Count Chocula. Boo Berry was like that cousin who lived really far away and you never saw, and Franken Berry and Count Chocula lived just two towns over and you always saw them.)

Then I turned back and put an extra box of Boo Berry in the cart, because 1) it was on sale, and 2) to me it was a sign that the Great Pumpkin thought my pumpkin patch was pretty sincere, or at least in the running as “Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch”.

And Tastykake Pumpkin Pie is back too? It’s the most…wonderful…time…of the…year!

Time for a healthy breakfast!
