Science Goes Pop

(I guess the Pipettes weren’t available, but…)

On Boing Boing today, they posted a link to a clip on the Eppendorf website. What’s an Eppendorf? They make a lot of scientific laboratory equipment, especially for biology labs like I used to lurk in during my university days. But anyway, those of you that know me know that I’m not much for boy bands, but I thought this was brilliant:

It’s funny because it’s true, doing a lot of pipette work can be a pain on your hands, so bravo to Eppendorf for developing an automated pipette system and using a boy band parody to sell it.

DNA
RNA
Proteins
Cell cultures
Less reagents
Faster workflow
Saves you money
Well, well, well

Well, shoot, I have no current need for an automated pipette system, but now I want one!

Dear Eppendorf International,

For the sequel, you should get the Pipettes. You could appeal to all the lonely guys in labs everywhere! I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.

Your friend,
